# Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air depends on more than the furnace and air conditioner. Dry winter air, dust, odors, stale rooms and a thermostat that doesn't hold its setting all affect how a home feels. Carbon monoxide is a safety issue, not a comfort one, and every home with fuel-burning equipment should have working detectors. We install and service air cleaners, air purifiers, humidifiers, thermostats and carbon monoxide detectors. We start by asking what you notice at home, then recommend equipment that fits your existing system rather than adding things you don't need. A humidifier can ease dry air in winter, and a new thermostat can make schedules and temperature control simpler. ## Common questions

Do I need a carbon monoxide detector?

If your home has a furnace, boiler, water heater or other equipment that burns fuel, yes. Detectors should be tested regularly and replaced when they expire. We can install them or check the ones you have.

Why is the air in my house so dry in winter?

Heating systems dry out indoor air, and cold outdoor air holds little moisture. A humidifier added to your system can help, and we can tell you which type fits your home.

Can you replace my thermostat?

Yes. We install thermostats and make sure they work with your furnace, air conditioner or heat pump.
